Corinne Cantwell Heggie has practiced as a BigLaw partner and counsel at Chicago’s largest majority women-owned law firm. She is uniquely qualified to partner with her clients’ banks, financial advisors, corporate trustees, and insurance companies on estate and business plans due to her experience representing financial services companies in various legal settings. It also positions Corinne to appear in probate court and to litigate business disputes. Corinne is licensed in Illinois and Missouri and can appear before the United States Supreme Court and federal courts located throughout the Midwest.
Corinne prepares wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other planning documents, and assists with estate and trust administration. She regularly counsels and drafts corporate documents on behalf of her clients. Corinne works with clients to protect and direct their personal and business assets with an eye towards tax avoidance.
Corinne has been recognized by the legal community and her peers. Since 2019, she has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer based on an evaluation including factors such as peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice. Previously, she was an Illinois Rising Star. In 2017, Best Lawyers named Corinne a “Woman of Influence” nationally in the legal profession. In 2015, DePaul Magazine named Corinne one of its “14 under 40” for her outstanding contributions to the profession and mentoring young lawyers.
Corinne is the immediate past President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, a state-wide association dedicated to advancing and promoting women in the law. Corinne’s bar service has afforded her other leadership opportunities both as an officer and board member of the North Suburban Bar Association and with the the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee. Recently, Governor Pritzker appointed Corinne to serve the State of Illinois on the DUI Cannabis Task Force overseen by his Deputy Governor Christian Mitchell.
Outside of work, Corinne is a frequent lecturer and her work has been published in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. She is active in her community as a member of Lyon School/Pleasant Ridge PTA and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish’s Women’s Club. Corinne has served on the Executive Board of Glenview Community Church Nursery School and the Board of Trustees of the Glenbrook District 225 High School Foundation. She and her husband John are raising three sons in Glenview where the family is active in scouting, sports, and ministries dedicated to women and children in crisis.
